This is a common thorny plant in Israel, placed in a jar/vase. the most probable possibily that it is of genus “Scolymus” (Hebrew: חוֹחַ) or commonly known as “Thistle”
Scolymus hispanicus (Hebrew: חוֹחַ סְפָרַדִּי) or “Common Golden Thistle” is an Herbaceous plant or simply “Herb” Mostly thorny, In the Asteraceae family (Hebrew: מוּרְכָּבִים), which includes between 350 and 600 species. The distribution of the genus is limited to the Northern Hemisphere; the number of species in the Middle East is particularly high, and about 25 species grow in the Land of Israel. Other less probable options could be: Notobasis syriaca (Hebrew: בַּרְקָן סוּרִי) or Silybum marianum (Hebrew: גְּדִילָן מָצוּי)
