Restoration background
I started working on old VHS cassetes ……..
Roughly at January 21 2026 (5PM), when I went to my many backups to find probably the 1-2 pieces left that left to shoe regarding my father, I have stumbled 2 folder that contains many files regarding my project of enhancing these videos – They contain the digitization (as mentioned above) and screenshots, improvement tries and more that were involved to enhance these old videos from a very rough shape at about 768×576 pixels (at 25FPS). The goal was to improve the general quality, clarity, sharpness and details; and upscale it to a FullHD video (Basically, 1440p at 60FPS).
From that point of January 21 till know I stated working on some screenshots (i.e. frames) I have taken out of these videos. Some were from the source (i.e. 768×576pix at 25FPS) and some on a basic upscale (i.e. 1440×1152pix) but not from the final version (i.e. “Enhanced”). Now, at 21:10, I have published this post to show one of the enhancement that I just finished, at 20:54.
In conclusion, out of 10 images (i.e. screenshots) that I chose to represent these entire videos in the most respectable way (i.e. enhanced) I finished almost all expect one more the I will finish tomorrow. At some point I will upload all them to a dedication album in my restorations section.
