Date: Feb 14, 2010.
Technique: Pencil (Graphite) drawing (low grade – perhaps B2/3 pencil).
Style: Realism.
Dimensions: 0×0cm.
My 2nd self-portrait and I wanted to create perhaps a somewhat better version. I was wondering how I would look in the drawing and also how I would be able to drew it accurately with the idea that I would close one eye. I didn’t know what will come out of it but it turned out to be with an ‘angry’ or a ‘bit disappointment’ face. As such, at the end I decided to call it “נאחס”.
In Hebrew “נָאחְס” (also in concentrated form [Hebrew: כתיב חסר] as “נָחְס”) which according to the dictionary is “bad luck” or “misfortune” but the best translation (loosely) will be “bummer”.
Unlike, using Application (android) which did not yet exist then, Mirror, Light Box Tracing Board or any other tool that can give a precise results – At least, artistically which can be also being described by art (אָמָּנוּת) versus handicraft (אוּמָּנוּת), I preferred and chose to do it traditionally and drew it all by myself without any aid and as such the ratio of the face and the relationship between different parts of the face are a bit odd/off.
