Father Missing Pieces, No Longer!

Background:

Its all started with my various investigations that part of this is to know my father’s general autobiography, art autobiography and more. From everything that I collected and documented, my father described me his life period in the 60s and 70s. Out of many paragraphs, I will summarize or mention that my father did few art projects/exhibits that are fairly documented (See:_____). Besides, this my father also did art on his spare time as he always did.

Unfortunately, at some point he had to return home to help his seek and old parents. In this case he told me time and time again, that some (perhaps could be many) art pieces he could not take with him, left them, and as such they were gone. Meaning, all of the pieces that he did on his spare tome were simply lost.

Luckily through my investigation and the fact that my father’s story was logged in my head, I was able to locate few photos (scanned as “WoodTexture_21_IMG_20230327_0027_02.jpg” and “…41….jpg”) while I was browsing his 2 old photo albums from this period, that document (or more correctly, preserving) these art pieces. Basically, they popped just right into my face. These photos can bee seen at “Father – 60’s and 70’s” that were taken in his old apartment – They presented as fixed (resorted version) after the intense cleanup of the rough texture, color restoration and improvements of the general quality and details.

Because, of my digital art and AI art and adaptions, that I recently started to to (lets say around May 2025???) led to to the idea to improve the quality of these old images and also try to take out the art pieces from within and transform them into a more representable way, while keeping the authenticity (or accuracy), as close a possible. As it shown in the cover image (above) there are few pieces that can be seen. This image is a reproductive work (or creation) I did on Feb 28, 2026, when I have tried to combine the 2 (only) pictures I have found that showing the old living room of the home I grew. They were taken before I was born, around 1983. These 2 images (one I zoomed in and cropped) shows the same part of the living room, where there is a simple elongated table (that acted as a sideboard) and an old CRT TV with old reception antenna, and old Sansui Stereo Receiver and its 2 large speakers. Luckily in these 2 images are 2 missing pieces that des not exist anymore but preserved only in these images that unfortunately where captured by old film camera and as a result are in poor quality, all together.

I have decided to combined these 2 images that are from a different point of view, using AI and many PS steps, with 2 additional current images of pieces that do exist, to recreate the entire living room in an uncropped (expanded) view. This is what you can see in the cover image (above), that is mostly well preformed but some inconsistencies, remained because of the unwillingness to push this any further.

This reproductive work was first to work on each picture (that is, a different point of view) separately, by improving, enhancing and upscaling as best as I could considering the I only worked on them for a single day and then, few more hours to combine and expand the view – Like in the cover image (above). Only after this, I decided to continue with few of my many tries (temporary files) by excluding (= eliminating the background) the ‘Katydid’ sculpture with the stereo, fixing the left area of the ‘Katydid’ that was missing, make it straight (not rotated) and improve the overall quality and details – All with integrity.

In the manner of the ‘Silhouette’ is that it was much easier exclusion and I also added another (perhaps the same) ‘Silhouette’ that can bee seen at “Father – 60’s and 70’s“. Maybe the piece from “Father – 60’s and 70’s” my father took with and the reason why it looks different is because the image (the original state of “Dad-Art-Apartment-01…-Enhanced….jpg“) was in very poor quality and this was the best AI interpretation with a lot of additional PS work. the 2nd option, that there are 2 different pieces.

I am not very happy, only mildly, with the outcome of the “Katydid” in the manner of accuracy and thereby there is no dedicated item (i.e. page) for it in my portfolio. However, the ones that turn out quite all right, are given their own page and will be listed ahead:
