The only or at least the main message is “a little empathy” and it is function as a poster on the wall. It is written “אתה” (Hebrew for “You”) and “קצת אמפתיה” (Hebrew for “A Bit of Empathy”).
The idea is to remind that empathy is extremely important, and even a little of empathy goes a long way. This is emphasized by a human hand shakes the hand of praying mantis.
Background:
I first drew the human hand with the praying mantis and didn’t knew how to continue. I also probably had sketch or temporary basic painting of grass and skies. Eventually, I decided to create a collage divided by the composition of 2/3 and 1/3.
The upper 2/3 is the main focus where I have created basic colorful skies and grass. I cut out the drawing of the human hand with the praying mantis and placed it above this new painting – after of course the acrylic paints dried. Lastly, I wrote with extra-large font the writing “You” to take the viewer’s attention.
Underneath, I decided to leave the paper mostly as is, without color and wrote in an artistic natury design (‘font of nature’) the writing “A bit of empathy” as well as the symbol of the well-known organization of “GreenPeace”.
