The Story:
I am wearing glasses and from time to time I don’t want to have the need to carry on shoulder bag with the different essential inside. Thereby, I tried to searching in the common stores for a foldable glasses the could be easily stored inside the pants’ pocket. After many hours of searching I could only find foldable ‘reading’ glasses that can only be ordered with ready made lenses but there wasn’t an option for a customized lenses such as specific gap or focal zoom.
Moreover, because the results were only for ‘reading’ glasses and thereby all of the ready made lenses were only for basic zoom (i.e. “+Zoom”) rather then what I’ve tired to find which is for ‘distance’ (i.e. “โZoom”). I was persistent but even after additional effort I was able to find only 1 result for ‘distance’ but they were made from plastic and could not be customized.
As such, I decided to purchased glasses from a store I used to order from that has a large variety of frames and lenses, with a lot of customization and flexibility. I was managed to find “Black Rectangle Glasses #3217121” that answered my needs:
- Strong metal frame.
- Customizable.
- Specific lenses for ‘distance’ or in other words, with the zoom of “โ” (Minus).
I thought that it shouldn’t be a problem for me to take this glasses frames and transform them into a foldable version.
Continuing the saga, is that I needed to acquire different tools to help me with my build and ended up buying different stuff that can be shown in the video. In addition, I needed to buy hinges for the folding ability.
