I wanted a unit that that will be for placing my modem (internet router) at the vacant corner of the livingroom and that it won’t take up any space. Also, instead of buying something new, that could have cost let say 50-250$, I decided to use cardboard leftovers from the relocation process an/or new items’ packages that I already had as well as tape, and only to pay 15$ for a spray paint to make it more beautiful, or ‘cover the imperfections’.
The cardboard package – The Beginning
Almost done with the tape wrapping

* The entire build took around 55 minutes.

* I basically, took the box and made the depth about twice shorter. |

I went out of paint from my previous project and bought a new paint canister (the total amount for the entire paints is around 15$) – The previous color (“oat latte” accent) is being matched quite perfectly to the color of my wall, but he ran out. As a result, I decided to buy a semi-dark black (its actual name is “charcoal” color) to eliminate the ‘imperfections’ hopefully even more. Moreso, many furniture and equipment are already in different shades of black and therefore, the “charcoal” is also a good choice.
Afterwards, I retracted and eventually decided to buy again the “oat latte”.
* See the process video on the right (it is without the last coloring step).
This is the final – The job is done and the item is placed in its location:
Already positioned in its place
As you can see, it is located near a door frame, a passage between two rooms, right in the middle of my apartment for optimal reception.
